Ipswich courier company to expand
Date: 31 July 2008
An Ipswich-based courier company is set to double its workforce and treble its volume of work in Chelmsford, it has been claimed.
Online news resource Business Weekly reports that Rapid Dispatch is hoping to offer a number of opportunities to local workforce as it opens a new depot in the area, following a similar extension of its Ipswich operations.
The news provider adds that the growth comes after the company was appointed by Britain's largest express parcel company, APC Overnight.
Speaking to the website, Richard Procter, sales manager at Rapid Dispatch said that the company sees "tremendous" potential for growth, adding: "Having local support and such good on-time delivery performance are key factors and APC Overnight's innovative online services with live tracking are proving a big hit with new customers."
APC Overnight delivers more than one million parcels each month, with a 99.8 per cent punctuality rate.
Meanwhile, one lucky courier got a surprise the other week, when the Scotsman reported that an employee from Eagle Couriers delivered a parcel from the BBC to Hollywood star Nicole Kidman, although he did not meet the actress.
