Couriers who have been struggling with rising fuel costs may be pleased to hear that a supermarket price war has lowered the price of petrol at some outlets.
According to a report by the Independent, Asda, Morrison's and Sainsbury's have all lowered the cost of filling up at their pumps, with the latter store reducing the price by five pence per litre for customers who spend more than £50 in store over the next two weeks.
Asda has dropped the cost of its unleaded and diesel fuel by three pence per litre while Morrison's has knocked four pence from its unleaded and diesel pumps.
These price cuts follow news that the price of crude oil has dropped from around $147 (£74) per barrel to $130.
Speaking to the newspaper, AA president Edmund King said that he welcomed the price cuts as so far two drops in the price of crude oil have not been passed on to customers.
Meanwhile, the chancellor Alistair Darling recently announced that he is postponing the planned two pence fuel duty increase to give some relief to motorists, including couriers
