Courier recognised for good service
Date: 18 July 2008
Raymond Beer, 61, has being named the top contract driver at this year's TNT Express Services Superstar Driver Excellence Awards.
Mr Beer works as a courier on behalf of TNT Financial Services and drives more than 90,000 miles annually in this role, reports local news provider the Exeter Express.
According to the news resource, the courier was recognised for his dedication to his job after being nominated by a number of customers and beat 1,700 other commercial drivers to the top spot.
Speaking after his achievement had been announced, Mr Beers said: "I love my job. I just try to be as professional as I can. Winning this award was such a shock but I'm really proud."
His boss, Tom Bell, the managing director of TNT Express Services UK and Ireland, added that couriers such as Raymond play a "crucial" role in business, adding that Mr Beer is a credit to the profession.
Mr Beer will now compete in the National Courier Awards in September this year.
According to the Institute of Couriers, this event will be held at the Institute of Directors on Pall Mall in London's West End on September 16th.
