Road rage 'second biggest change facing UK motorists'

Date: 09 July 2008

Road rage is perceived as being the second biggest change facing UK motorists, it has emerged.

The RAC's Annual Report on Motoring highlights that, second to cost, the aggression of their fellow drivers is the thing most vehicle users feel has changed about driving in the past two decades.

Almost a third of respondents to the survey stated they had been a victim of road rage, while half of those questioned admitted to being aggressive towards their fellow road users.

Other findings from the study included that the top cause of stress on the roads is a motorist driving too close to cars in front of them, followed by drivers who use their mobiles while behind the wheel.

This follows news from Tesco Van Insurance that van drivers, including couriers, are among the safest motorists in the UK as they make fewer claims than other motorists.
