3D satnavs hit the stores

Satnavs which show notable buildings in 3D so that drivers can recognise where they are has hit the shelves.

A new satnav which has appeared on the market could offer drivers, including those providing courier services with a three-dimensional (3D) experience.

Navman's new models, the S30 3D, S50 3D and S70 34D, all show the buildings drivers will encounter in 3D, making it easier for motorists to recognise landmarks on the road.

The devices feature details on 1,000 notable buildings across Europe, states online news resource T3.

According to the website, they also boast screen ranging from 3.5 inches to 4.3 inches depending on what model individuals opt for, while the S50 and the S70 feature Bluetooth.

This is the latest new gadget for motorists, following the news that the University of Portsmouth is developing a new satnav device which makes motorists aware of congested roads on their journey and advises of alternative, traffic-free routes.

According to online news provider Shiny Shiny, the Congestion Avoidance Dynamic Routing Engine also allows vehicle users to feed back information concerning road conditions to other drivers with one of the devices.
