New motoring law affects drivers in France
Date: 07 July 2008
Motorists, including those providing courier services, have been advised that a new law concerning driving has been implemented in France.
According to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), drivers visiting the country must now carry a reflective jacket aboard their car or van, reports Yes Insurance.
The jacket must be donned when the driver leaves the vehicle during an emergency day or night.
It must also be accessible from inside the vehicle and failure to follow these rules could see drivers, including couriers, picking up a conviction.
"Research shows you're actually three times more likely to be involved in an accident when abroad. Being fully prepared will really help take some of the stress out of a bad situation," said IAM director Neil Greig
In related news, research from Vauxhall has highlighted that Germany is UK drivers' preferred driving location Europe.
You too can make the headlines with bigger and better courier contracts, find out how!
