Survey reveals worst drivers
Date: 09 June 2008
New research has revealed the vehicle users that drivers, including those conducting courier work, would least like to see on road
Auto Trader magazine's poll revealed that an elderly woman motorist from London driving a BMW would be the perceived worst driver, according to respondents.
The Herald reports that most of those polled deemed older drivers to be the worst, followed by very young drivers.
Londoners were voted the worst drivers by region, with vehicle owners from the south-west taking second place.
BMW drivers were cited as the least-liked road users, followed by people driving a Subaru, Mercedes Benz or Land Rover.
Tom White, head of partnerships at Auto Trader, told the news provider: "It's good that most motorists recognise bad driving habits, both in themselves and other road users."
He advised that motorists, including professional drivers and those providing courier services, should adopt better driving habits in order to be safer and save money on their insurance.
Meanwhile, the Royal Automobile Club Foundation recently claimed that by adopting eco-friendly driving habits, such as driving smoothly, motorists can cut their fuel costs.
