Killers' song is motorists' top tune
Date: 23 May 2008
Couriers who regularly listen to music while making their deliveries may be interested to hear that the Killers' track Mr Brightside has been voted motorists' top song.
The indie band's offering beat competition from Bonnie Tyler's Holding out for a Hero, Steppenwolf's Born to be Wild and Don McLean's classic American Pie to take the top spot in insurance company Elephant.co.uk's poll.
Speaking about the results, managing director Brian Martin said: "It was really interesting to see that the most modern song was the one to take the top spot. For a relatively new tune, it seems to have made quite an impact."
Other findings which emerged from the survey include that nearly 20 per cent of drivers, including those carrying out courier services, like to sing while behind the wheel, with only seven per cent of respondents preferring complete silence in their vehicle.
This follows news from Thinkbroadband.com, which claims that as wireless technology improves, road users and couriers wanting to improve their cars or vans could boast an in-car entertainment system which syncs up with their household media server.
