Eagle Courier gains approval to work with government

Date: 18 March 2008

Following mishaps where couriers mislaid sensitive information last year, the government in Scotland is set to work with a new courier firm.

Eagle Couriers, a long-standing member of Courier Exchange, has won approval to work with the Government Car and Despatch Agency (GCDA) and Scotland Excel, which looks for trusted suppliers.

The firm is based in Glasgow and Edinburgh and is the largest independent courier company in Scotland.

Last year courier drivers from Parcelforce and TNT mislaid CDs containing the personal details of drivers in Northern Ireland and child benefit recipients, sparking a wider debate about the security of our personal information.

However, Eagle Couriers is evidently regarded as providing a trustworthy service.

Director Jerry Stewart said: "We could not ask for a more pleasing endorsement of our work. These organisations set the most rigorous standard."
