Couriers can crush speed cameras in a tank
Date: 04 February 2008
Disgruntled couriers and owner drivers can take out their frustrations by crushing a speed camera in a 17-tonne tank.
Somerset businessman Bill Bailey, who operates a paintball company, will allow motorists such as courier drivers to get in an Abbott 433 tank, alongside an expert driving instructor, and drive around Vernon's hill quarry near Gurney Slase, before crushing a mock-up speed camera underneath the tracks of the powerful metal beast.
Many couriers and owner drivers, along with other motorists, find speed cameras aggravating. It is thought that it will allow couriers and others to take out their frustration in a fun way.
Mr Bailey said: "I think it will be popular with motorists.
"There is also the option of blowing one up. The gun only fires blanks, but we can simulate an explosion at the other end with pyrotechnics."
